Our family orchard began in 1983 with an initial planting of 250 trees. We just kept adding more each year and before we knew it we had 10,000 trees and 29 Minnesota apple varieties! We all had other jobs and did our farming on the weekends until there were too many apples to ignore! We began selling them on a railroad cart on the side of the road which we still use outside our large apple barn to this day.
Nine years ago we added one of the area's only strawberry patches and both summer and fall raspberries for you to pick or purchase. We are certified by the Food Alliance, a sustainable farm organization made up of farmers who use safe, responsible, minimal impact farming practices. The serene natural beauty of the Crow River plus lots of good ol' farmin' fun are available just 30 minutes west of Minneapolis!
In the summer you can enjoy picking strawberries, raspberries and searching for a great find in our antique & junk sale. In summer we also get special deliveries of Michigan peaches, blueberries and cherries. Be sure to visit the fruit pages for more information on these fruits and when they are available.
In the fall we are a family fun farm! We have pick-your-own fall raspberries, & of course apples.. as well as pumpkins, squash, wagon rides, entertainment. Our 100-year old barn with beautiful views of the river is the anchor for our indoor activities and boasts the Olde Barn Gift Shop with a beautiful selection of seasonal decor and gifts. In 1998 we added a spacious Apple Market and in 2003 our Apple Pantry Cafe. We offer lunch and yummy bakery treats from June 15 - Christmas.
On a beautiful day take your food out back to relax and enjoy the river and the turning leaves.
Of course outside there is lots of fun for kids on our haybale pyramid with slide, a mini maze for tots and our Cow Train and Apple Cannon. and our resident goats are available to pet too.
Adults and kids alike enjoy getting lost in our 5 acre corn maze. Miles of fun! Open weekend days for the public starting Labor Day and evenings by group reservation. This is a great outing for families, church groups, scouts or work groups.
When the cold winds blow in late November we switch gears and become your Christmas tree destination! Featuring the freshest trees in all the popular varieties with other great Christmas items and a visit from Santa to boot! Of course it's also the perfect time to stock up on apple and pumpkin pies for the holidays or send one of our Holiday Gift Boxes.
We hope you will come out and enjoy the "fruits" of our labor!
